Extending Database Services Across Leading Cloud Platforms

Tibero today announced that OwlDB, its cloud-native Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) platform, is now available through the Microsoft Azure Marketplace, expanding customer access to the platform across the world's leading public cloud ecosystems.

With OwlDB now available on both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, organizations can deploy and manage database services consistently across hybrid and multi-cloud environments using the same operational interface and automation capabilities.

The expanded marketplace availability reflects Tibero's broader strategy to simplify enterprise database operations while giving customers greater flexibility in choosing their preferred cloud infrastructure.

Simplifying Cloud Database Operations

OwlDB was developed to address two of the biggest challenges organizations face when adopting cloud databases: operational complexity and the shortage of experienced database administrators.

The platform enables organizations to provision, manage, monitor, back up, and recover Tibero DB instances through an intuitive, cloud-native interface designed to reduce administrative effort and improve operational efficiency.

For enterprises migrating from Oracle Database, OwlDB also provides a familiar operating experience through Tibero's high level of Oracle compatibility, allowing database administrators to transition with minimal retraining while continuing to use enterprise-class database capabilities.

Built for Automation and Operational Efficiency

OwlDB automates routine database administration tasks, including provisioning, backup, recovery, monitoring, software patching, and security updates, enabling IT teams to maintain database environments with minimal manual intervention.

The platform also incorporates Tibero's Tibero Active Cluster (TAC) technology to provide high availability and business continuity at a significantly lower cost than traditional clustered database deployments, making enterprise-grade resilience more accessible for organizations of all sizes.

The combination of automation, intuitive management, and built-in high availability makes OwlDB particularly attractive for small and mid-sized businesses, startups, and organizations with limited in-house database expertise.

Accelerating Multi-Cloud Adoption

"Many organizations want to modernize their database infrastructure but are constrained by limited database expertise and the operational complexity of cloud environments," said Kyunghee Park, CEO of Tibero. "OwlDB was designed to make enterprise database operations simpler and more accessible through automation and an administrator-friendly experience. Expanding to Microsoft Azure Marketplace is an important step in extending that value to customers pursuing hybrid and multi-cloud strategies."

To celebrate OwlDB's marketplace expansion, Tibero is offering a complimentary Proof of Concept (PoC) program, allowing prospective customers to evaluate the platform in their own environments before deployment.
